Karpenter kubernetes autoscaler gets around the need to set up an autoscale group per node type as is the case with the default k8s autoscaler. With the default autoscaler to do this you must ask the cluster administrator and wait for them to do it when they have time and this slows you down. Instead of the need to set up a an autoscale group per node and using taints and tolerations to control the scheduling, with Karpenter the cluster admin set constraints on the provisioner directly so you just set the pod's resource request and node selector/affinity and done! Very nice! I guess I know what I want my cluster admin to try out... https://lnkd.in/eaRd45nG
