Great post Paul Grizzaffi! This is such an important topic, and you've presented it in a beautiful way

1yPaul, Nailed it! This statement "It will promise to do things better, stronger, and faster. And cheaper..." has been the "magical" myth/misconception for a long time (as we both know). I like how you pointed out how companies try to emulate one of the Big Tech companies and don't realize all the groundwork they did to get to their ideal condition, and the time it took as well. Also, your statement about switching tools is oh so true. Companies blame the tool instead of looking in the mirror and saying "Did we really use this correctly, was our approach/process wrong?" Switching tools without changing your approach/methodology is just going to lead to history repeating itself. A fool with a tool is still a fool. Don't be foolish. Again, excellent post. And yes, we need to stop "Fooling Yourself" as part of the process. (like how I worked that one in?)
